Hi All,

I've finally got around to the blog again, it has been quite a year and I have been absolutely swamped with work - something had to give, and i'm afraid it was the blog!

However, I've not been resting on my laurels and have an important update on my betting activity, tennis trading and the latest developments.

The biggest news was the completion of my tennis trading e-book a couple of months ago, and the response from the professionals I approached for advice was overwhelming. As many of you know, I have a huge amount of admiration for one particular veteran professional, "Big Mike" Marsland who invited me up to his Manchester HQ after reviewing the book.

It was a fascinating trip and as well as meeting Mike, I was able to spend time with other professionals on his team. To cut a long story short, Mike offered me a position on his team, and after much anguished debate, I rightly ripped his arm off for the opportunity. (At one point in the meeting mike nudged me, said you'll like this and made £22 in 2 seconds with 2 clicks of his mouse - this is the stuff that the man is capable of!)

So what does this mean? For me, a fantastic opportunity to work with other professionals in an industry I'm passionate about, for anyone interested in my tennis trading method, the opportunity to monitor independently proofed results and participate in the profits!

It will now be possible to follow every trade I make using this one particular method on a controlled account, and be the first to find out how you can benefit.

The proofing will all be done on my own forum section, "The Alchemists Corner" which you can find by following the links to the forum from Big Mikes site HERE

The forum is free to sign-up to, and in addition to following my progress, you will receive a free daily "blog bet" and the odd "full column" of daily sports advice and trades - these can be worth their weight in gold!

I am off to Portugal in a couple of weeks for Mikes AGM, where, amongst other things, we will be going through the Tennis Trading results to date, and working on the plan to make the method profitable to anyone who wants to participate.

To keep up to date, and make sure you are ready to join if you wish - add yourself to the free forum now.

OK - week 1 out of the way so time for a quick review of how things are progressing:

Well - the good news is, despite the weather playing havoc with the racing during the week, and a real struggle to get on any decent tennis matches i'm happy to post a profit of £1212.12 pence as of close of business Friday. And I took a day off on Saturday to reward myself.

Starting with the tennis - an unbelievably slow start with the first 3 days only bringing in £100, fortunately, from thursday onwards i was able to bring in another £500 showing a respectable £601.27 profit on the tennis. It was very unusual to see such little action that i could get on - but patience is the key! Needed the day off on Saturday as the action has been mainly overnight - which probably also doesn't help volumes being traded.

The remaing £610 pounds came from the horses, which was really encouraging given the number off meetings abandoned due to the weather!

So, a good week for me given the conditions, but definetely hoping to get on a lot more this week.

One excellent aspect was the performance of a horse laying method I have been testing over the last month to very low stakes, which has brought in a respectable £300 which, during testing is an excellent start, but more about that at a future date.

So far so good!

All the best

At Last - The tennis kicks off in earnest today!

Firstly though, a big thanks to all of you who have e-mailed me or replied on the Big Mike and SBC forums - your support and encouragement has been greatly appreciated! Heres to a succesful New Year for all of us.

Right, where were we...... TENNIS.  The exhibition tournament of 5 matches on the 1st to the 3rd gave 6 of the top players a chance to warm up, and boy did Murray warm up beating Federer in the Semi and Nadal in the Final! - also gave me a chance to warm-up with 3 matches of the 5 fitting the bill and 3 wins out of 3 taking my winning streak to 25.

tennis2

A nice start to the Tennis, but have got to be on my guard now as 25 wins on the trot is too many statistically - expecting a correction at any point now as I would have expected to lose 2-3 trades over this period - but hey, whose complaining.

Effectively we have 5 concurrent tournaments this week: ATP Doha, ATP and WTA Brisbane, ATP Chenai and WTA Auckland - so there should be loads of opportunities. Nothing has caught my eye so far, the first day or so is filled with matches that generate little volume, but with some televised games this afternoon, I am hoping to get on 2 or 3 matches today.

For those of you unfamiliar with tennis outside of the grand slams, most ATP and WTA tournaments last for 1 week and run from Monday to Sunday. What i am really looking forward to is the games from Thursday onwards. Friday will bring 20 quarter final matches, Saturday 10 semi-finals, and Sunday 5 finals. These should all be high volume with plenty of swings and plenty of trading opportunities - lets see how it goes.

As far as the horses, only 2 meetings today. I've been through the cards and have only 4 races of any interest, but may well find some opportunities from Big Mike, SBC and NH Portfolio later this morning.

Oh, by the way, it was cold this morning, and it snowed - guess who didn't have to get up and go to work!!!!

I love this job

All the best

Paul
